I. Call to Order |

Stan Moore called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.

II. Public/Member Comment |

III. Parks Forum/Recreation Plan |
|||
|
|
Discussion ensued over the Parks and Recreation plan.
Joe Meyers indicated that we need to have a new plan passed by the beginning of 2010 and now is the time to start looking at updating it.
Discussion ensued over what we could do to prepare for the plan revision.

IV. Various Matters |

|
The Board discussed a forum and when it should be held.
Discussion ensued over snowmobile trails in Antrim County.
Linda Gallagher discussed holding a forum on EAB, Gypsy moths, etc.
The Board discussed possible dates to hold a forum. One being the end of April 2009 and one being the end of August 2009.
Motion by Don Schuiteman, supported by Al Pecar to have two (2) forums. One at the end of April 2009 and one at the end of August 2009 and to increase the budget from $500 to $1000 for 2009. Motion carried – unanimous.
Discussion ensued over starting the meeting with individual groups.

V. Minutes |

Motion by Jerry Dobrzelewski, supported by Don Schuiteman, to approve the May 27, 2008 minutes. Motion carried – unanimous.

VI. Petoskey Stone Festival Update |
|||
|
|
Joe Meyers discussed the Petoskey Stone Festival income/expense totals.
|

VII. Public/Member Comment |
|||
|
|
Mike Crawford discussed the “Spook Trail”. The Committee asked if Mike Crawford would ask the Bellaire and Mancelona Schools if they would like to help with the spook trail. The committee also asked if Mike Meriwether could contact the Central Lake School district and Linda Gallagher to contact the Ellsworth School District.
Mike Meriwether spoke on reverter clauses on county forest lands.
Discussion ensued over why the reverter clauses were being removed.
Jerry Dobrzelewski spoke on public vs. private land. He also spoke on the DNR and the closing of the Jordan River Road 6 years ago.
