Obtaining A Marriage License
Application for Marriage License- An Affidavit for License to Marry must be filed with the County Clerk’s office either by mail or in person.
- One or both applicants may apply.
- One of the applicants must be an Antrim County resident.
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. If either applicant is 16 or 17, he or she must file a Parent’s Consent Form which can be obtained from the County Clerk’s office.
- If the Affidavit for License to Marry is filed by mail, the signature(s) must be notarized.
- Affidavit for License to Marry may NOT be filed electronically (fax or E-mail).
FEE - $20.00 - must be included with the Affidavit for License to Marry.
- There is a three day waiting period after which the license may be picked up at the County Clerk’s office or mailed to applicant.
- License must be used within thirty (30) days.
Out-of-State Applications- Both applicants must be out-of-Michigan residents. An Affidavit for License to Marry must be filed with the County Clerk’s office either by mail or in person.
