Concealed Carry Weapons


Applications for CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) Permits may be obtained from the County Clerk's Office or the Sheriff Department.

When approved, Licenses are good for no more than 5 and no less than 4 years, and will expire on the applicant's birthday.  The License is good throughout the State of Michigan.

The Application must be filled out and returned to the County Clerk's Office for submission.

DO NOT SIGN APPLICATION.  You must sign the application at the County Clerk's Office in front of the County Clerk or representative.

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION TO COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE:

  • Completed Application
  • Certificate of Completion of Firearms Safety Training Course (for new applicants only)
  • Renewal applicants need to certify they have completed three hours of review and one hour of firing range time in the past six months
  • $115.00 Application Fee.  Checks can be made out to "ANTRIM COUNTY CLERK"

Fingerprints are taken and completed at the Jail after Application has been turned in at the County Clerk's Office.

A background check is conducted by the State of Michigan. Once the background check is returned the CPL license will be mailed to you.

A letter will be sent out 3 months prior to your CPL expiring as a reminder.
