Boards, Commissions & Committees


The Board of Commissioners is the county's governing body. The Board is the central policy-making body of the county and approves the county's budget.

A number of commissions & advisory boards have been created to assist the Board of Commissioners in various ways. Members of these commissions and boards are appointed by the Chairperson of the Board.


Commissions & Advisory Boards
The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners appoints a number of special boards and commissions to assist the Board in various areas of endeavor. Members of these boards and commissions are appointed for terms of one to several years. The boards assist the Board of Commissioners in matters as diverse as election canvassing, economic development, municipal planning, and emergency services. The links to the left will take you to the home pages of these boards and commissions. 

Vacancies on various boards, commissions, and committees serving Antrim County can occur throughout the year. Vacancies will be published on the County's website and official social media pages. If you are looking for an opportunity to serve, you are invited to submit a Notice of Interest. All notices will be kept on file for one year and reviewed in the event of a vacancy. Though it is not a requirement for most committees, preference will be given to Antrim County residents.

If you are a veteran of the US armed forces and wish to serve on the Antrim County Veterans Affairs Committee, you will need to submit a notice of interest that is specific to that committee. That notice can be found on the Veterans Affairs Committee page.
