Planning Commission

Overview
The Planning Commission was organized with reference to the Michigan Planning Enabling Act. The commission is currently comprised of 6 members appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, including five (5) at-large members and one (1) member of the Board of Commissioners.  Bylaws for can be found here. The Planning Commission is responsible for:
  • Making and updating plans for the development of the County;
  • Providing review and comments to township/village master plans and updates;
  • Providing review and comments to township zoning ordinances and their amendments; and
  • Performing special, planning-oriented tasks as directed by the County Board of Commissioners
Meetings
In 2023, the Planning Commission will meet the first Tuesday of every other month at 4:30 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners Room, Room 202 in the Antrim County Building. If you wish to be on the agenda, please contact the County Administration & Planning Office at (231)533-6265 at least once week in advance of the meeting.

Antrim County Master Plan
At their regular meeting on March 1, 2022, the Antrim County Planning Commission approved a motion to amend the Antrim County Master Plan. The Planning Commission is requesting your cooperation with the amendment process and welcomes comments. Comments can be faxed to (231)533-8111, emailed to countyadmin@antrimcounty.org with "Master Plan Comments" in the subject line, or mailed to PO Box 187, Bellaire, MI 49615.

The Planning Commission's regular meetings will also be serving as the Master Plan work sessions. These meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every other month at 4:30 pm in room 202 of the Antrim County Building.
